Muslim Voices, Arts & Ideas, was a 10-day arts festival and conference in New York City showcasing Muslim artists from every portion of the globe. The Islamic scripts above are the Persian, Urdu/Farsi and Arabic versions of a phrase that roughly translates to "Muslim Voices." The choice to include these scripts with ane English-language logo was driven by the intention to bridge a divide and demonstrate that "culture goes where politics cannot," as the event creators know too well at the Asia Society, BAM and the NYU Center for Dialogues. This logo also drew type and color cues from the established identities of the creating partner institutions.
This logo design was a collaboration with Clara Cornelius at BAM. The talented calligrapher was Ellinor Holland.
